Saltwell Park – Our Thrilling Venue!

We hope you're getting excited for Gateshead Thrill Day, just over 1 week to go! And because of that, we can now reveal our thrilling venue for the big event: Saltwell Park!
An notable park and host of many cultural events within the region and we are very excited to be hosting Gateshead Thrill Day there. So, to ensure you're prepared for our thrilling event, here are a few details about accessing the park.

Directions
By foot - The park is easily accessible by foot from many areas of Gateshead. A walk from the centre of Gateshead will take around 30 minutes. The park has entrances on East Park Road, West Park Road, Saltwell Road South, Saltwell View and Joicey Road.
By bus - The buses 53 and 54 run regularly from Gateshead Interchange to Saltwell Park. Find out times and more information atGo North East.
By car - Postcode NE8 4SF will take you direct to the car park. The car and coach park is accessed from Durham Road (A167) via Joicey Road. The car park is free all year round and has capacity for 80 cars, four coaches and includes three blue badge spaces.
There are two electric vehicle charge points available in the car park.
Accessibility
There are numerous pathways in and around the park which are suitable for wheelchair users or mobility scooters. There are no steps to access the park or on the central pathways although access to the dene may be difficult. There is limited designated blue badge parking in the free car park and accessible facilities within Saltwell Towers.
