Welcome: Thrill the World Gateshead
Hello and welcome to Thrill the World Gateshead!
On this blog, you will find all the information you need to participate in our Gateshead Thrill Day on Saturday 26 October at 10am (secret location to be disclosed shortly!).Here is a quick overview to begin:
- Thrill the World is a volunteer-driven non-profit organisation that was launched in 2006.
- Thrill the World is the name of an annual event launched by the non-profit, with the goal of getting as many people as possible dancing "Thriller" simultaneously across the globe!
- Each year thousands of people (zombies) across 6 continents participate in this event, and together try to set a new world record for the Largest Simultaneous Dance.
- This year, 2019, will be the first year the North East Dance Co-operative has participated, and you are invited to join in!
Thrill Day is the name given to the event day on any given year, and this year we will be Thriller-ing together on Saturday 26 October, and of the two time options, we'll be joining in with the 10am slot.
The exact location for our Thrill Day is yet to be announced, but it will be in Gateshead, Tyne & Wear in North East England.
Gateshead Thrill Day is suitable for... well, anyone and everyone! People of all ages and abilities, dancers, and people who have never set foot on a dance floor in their life. It's the perfect event for you if you're up for attempting to break a world record, keen to dress up as a zombie or looking for an excuse to get your dancing shoes on.
Over the next few weeks, we'll be releasing further information about the history of Thrill the World, Gateshead Thrill Day's organiser North East Dance Co-operative and giving you some inspiration for zombie costumes and make-up for the event!
