Frequently Asked Questions

As this is our first year participating in Thrill the World, we haven't had many FAQs yet(!), but we have had a couple so we're going to answer them below, plus we'll add a couple from the official Thrill the World website.  Here goes!

How do I register to take part in Thrill the World Gateshead?

To register, simply send an email to thrilltheworldgateshead@gmail.com.  Initially all we need from you is your name and contact email address, although before the event day you will also need to complete an official registration form.

Do I have to be a good/experienced dancer to participate?

Not at all!  TTW Gateshead is 100% about having fun!  While we obviously want all participants to know the choreography and feel confident with it, everyone is very welcome to join in, whether or not they have prior dance experience.

I have a disability/chronic illness, can I take part?

We are very passionate about this being an inclusive event, and in fact our founder has a disability/chronic illness.  Please do feel free to moderate the choreography to suit your ability and preferences.  If you aren't sure how to do this, then please send us an email via thrilltheworldgateshead@gmail.com and one of our dance instructors will be on hand to assist.

Can I just practice the music video choreography and turn up on the day?

To participate in TTW Gateshead it's vital you learn the official TTW choreography.  You can learn this independently via the online video tutorials (HERE) or by attending our community workshop sessions.  You will also need to officially register with us to participate in the world record attempt on Sat 26 October.

Do we need to be dressed as zombies when we dance?

There is no need to be a zombie, but we do encourage you to dress up, either as a zombie or any other creepy character — the more creative and elaborate the better! - dressing up always makes it more fun! (More information about zombie costumes and makeup to be released soon!)

I live too far from Gateshead to participate.  Is there any other way I can join in?

We very much welcome you to support Thrill the World Gateshead by sharing our social media posts and trying to recruit zombies!  If you specifically want to dance as part of the world record attempt, you can check the official Thrill the World website to see if there are any other TTW registered events in your area (HERE) or you can set up your own TTW event!

If you have any further questions, feel free to email us at thrilltheworldgateshead@gmail.com, or have a look at Thrill the World's website: https://www.thrilltheworld.com/frequently-asked-questions/
