What is the North East Dance Co-operative?
Our list of participants is building up and we are weeks away from thrilling Gateshead with a world record attempt. But we thought you'd like to know a bit more about the organisers of Gateshead Thrill Day. So, here is a bit more about North East Dance Co-operative!
The North East Dance Co-operative is a network of dancers and dance enthusiasts. We are independent, non-profit and volunteer-driven. Our values are cooperation, collaboration and community.
Our mission is to provide an alternative to top-down programming and increase equality of opportunity across the dance sector, starting with the North East.
We work together to provide dance education, training and engagement opportunities requested by our members and in support of our regional dance community. Since our inception this has included dance classes, workshops and company class/rehearsal observations with various dance companies, for whom we also provide audience development support in return.
It's free to join the NEDC. To register, all you need to do is send us your name and email address* via email to northeastdancecooperative@gmail.com or via direct message on our Facebook Page > www.facebook.com/NorthEastDanceCooperative
*If you are under 18, we'll also need the name and contact email of your parent/guardian(s).
